the project

McCormick Foods needed to significantly increase the output and efficiency of their family and regular jar filling lines. A range of glass jars and containers are filled with a wide range of herbs and spices on these lines. The project involved installing new, automatic, filling, capping and palletising equipment on both lines as well as automated case packing on the family line.

Metromotion was involved in developing the business case for the project, including generating the cost estimates to be included in the capital application. Once the project was approved, metromotion were responsible for the layout design as well as the specification, procurement, installation and
commissioning of all of the equipment. The equipment included:

  • High speed rotary fillers from All-Fill in the USA.
  • High speed rotary capping equipment from Zalkin in France.
  • Automatic case packers and palletisers from OLI in Germany.
